Question All That You’ve Been Told, Question All That You’ve Been Sold
In the mid-1990’s, musician Sarah McLachlan invited Paula Cole to be the opening act on her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy tour. This was a big no-no in the music industry.
It was widely known that you could not have two female acts on the same bill. No one would buy tickets to that. It would look like a joke.
But they went ahead and toured together—with great success! And a few years later, the legendary, life-changing, all-female Lilith Fair music festival was born. [btw, I highly recommend the documentary about this, Building a Mystery.]
These brave artists questioned “the norm” and expanded beyond the existing artificial constraints that sought to keep everyone “in their place.”
You may know that Friday is named after Freyja, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, and war.
And perhaps you know that 13 is the number of the divine feminine—as there are 13 lunar cycles in the year, which align with the menstrual cycle.
So why is 13 considered unlucky?
And why have we been told that Friday the 13th is especially scary?
Could it be that this day is an invitation to question?
Perhaps the threat of not staying “in one’s place” is a fearsome disruption?
It has never been more clear that we need a bit of disruption to bring about healing—within and without.
So, what is it that you need to question?
Shifting your awareness in ceremony or through self-healing song can help to bring clarity to what is being asked to heal within your own life.
I have two opportunities in coming weeks to help your energetic expansion—Spring Equinox Sanctuary in NYC and Song Circle online. Please see details linked below.
Wishing you many blessings on this Friday the 13th and beyond!
