Reiki can bring you towards profound healing—regardless of any internally held beliefs or externally imposed dogmas. So, you don’t need to believe in magic, reiki, or anything in particular for it to work.

What is reiki?

Reiki healing energy helps to bring balance to your mind, body, spirit, and emotions. And this creates a profound vibration of harmony in your life that can resonate outward to your community and beyond.

This gentle-yet-powerful modality can be easily learned and shared with others.

Learning reiki helps to deepen your intuition and strengthen your connection to yourself and all beings.

Reiki 1 & 2 Training and Certification

In this 2-day in-person training, you will learn how to heal yourself and others with reiki.

This is the most comprehensive beginner training program available and follows the guidelines of The International Center for Reiki Training® (ICRT), which is the largest and most widely known reiki organization in the world. The curriculum includes Japanese Reiki Techniques by Usui Sensei (Founder), Western style as introduced by Takata Sensei, and Holy Fire® III Reiki introduced by the ICRT.

When?

The schedule is Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am – 5:30pm in person in NYC. Attendance on both days is mandatory to receive certification.

The next training will take place September 12 - 13, 2026.

Note: The last day to sign up is September 4.

Where?

A private studio in the vibrant neighborhood of Astoria, Queens in New York City. The studio is located near the 30th Avenue N/W subway station.

No experience is necessary and all are welcome.

Reiki training can be useful for anyone and it is particularly helpful for caregivers and anyone who works in health and wellness, the creative arts, business, education, or any type of service industry.

Those already trained in reiki are welcome to register for this course to refresh and strengthen their practice. Healers in other modalities will find this training deeply supportive to their existing work, as well.

Class size will be kept very small so that students can receive personalized instruction.

This NYC in-person training will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on practice and will include the following:

  • How to give a complete reiki session to yourself and to others

  • Reiki I & II Placements (attunements)

FAQs

  • The investment is $475 in total.

    You have the option to either pay in full or in two payments with a $175 deposit and then $300 due a week before the first day of training.

  • There is no experience or special skills needed for this training. You do not need to identify as “intuitive” or “empathic” whatsoever. All are welcome.

    Reiki training can be highly useful for parents/caregivers, anyone who works in health and wellness, the creative arts, business, education, or those in any profession where you work directly with people.

  • There are no required practices to do in advance of reiki training.

    However, one thing that could be helpful is to practice a bit of mediation in advance. I have a free 5-minute reset guided meditation and energy cleanse available for download here.

    Also, as this is a very energetically powerful experience, you may consider the following optional suggestions in the days leading up to your training:

    • Try to get as much rest, sleep, and mindful quiet time as possible

    • Try to stay well-hydrated preferably with non-caffeinated, non-sugary beverages

    • Avoid or limit the consumption of:

      • alcohol, smoke, and/or mind-altering substances

      • meat, dairy, and sweets (including chocolate)

      • social media

      • scary or fear-inducing movies, tv, etc.

      • gossip

  • Because your energy will be in a process of balancing and integrating, it's possible to feel a bit off in the days following your training and attunements. This “reiki detox” effect and could manifest in cold/flu-like symptoms, disrupted sleep, and heightened mental, emotional, and physical sensitivities. It’s recommended to rest as much as reasonably possible, stay well-hydrated, and remember that this is all part of your energetic expansion.

  • Reiki is a wonderful modality that can enhance and support any existing healing practice. You most likely find that you’re able to take your existing work to an even deeper level following this training.

  • Please bring a journal and pen. Additionally, feel free to wear/bring comfortable clothing, a cozy wrap or sweatshirt, reusable water bottle, snacks, lunch, and anything else you may need for self-care. You could also bring a small personal item to bless on our altar.

  • Yes. You will be a certified Reiki I & II-degree practitioner, which qualifies you to practice on others professionally.

  • Yes! You’ll receive a dedicated practitioner newsletter, gain access to our private Slack group and book club, get invites to private gatherings, and be able to book discounted practitioner healing and mentoring sessions.
