Is the New Moon Sexy?

There’s always a lot of buzz around the full moon—and rightfully so!

When she’s at peak luminosity it’s hard not to admire her light.

There’s beauty combined with a bit of danger—the urge let go, the nudge to be seen, and of course, werewolves.

And, after leading full moon ceremonies every month for the past 5 years, I can tell you that the full moon is totally deserving of the hype.

But what about the new moon?

Her energy is much more subtle but, perhaps, is even more potent.

When the moon is in complete shadow, she is quiet, embodied confidence.

She is the womb from which all things begin.

She is courageously moving forward into the unknown in full trust of her power.

And her beauty is entirely for her own pleasure.

The nascent energy of the new moon is optimal for planting seeds—farmers have known this for millennia.

Our ancestors understood the inherent nurturance of this compelling lunar phase.

And this current collective moment feels like a good time to remember . . . and to pay attention . . .

Because the light that’s revealed from within the darkness may take you beyond your wildest dreams.
