Crashing into the collective consciousness

Our car got rear-ended on the July 4th holiday weekend in our neighborhood in Queens, New York City. Fortunately, we were all fine and the car will be ok… but it made me wonder, why this crash from the rear would happen so forcefully while we were stopped at a red light? What does it mean energetically?
